AiR 2025 / Architectural Thinking School for Children

A residency project dedicated to involving children in thinking about the city, architecture, and urbanism.
May 1–23, 2025
Architectural Thinking School for Children is a think tank composed of children and adult professionals from various disciplines, founded by art critic and designer Elena Karpilova together with architect Alexander Novikov (both currently based in Lisbon). Through the activities of this platform, they advocate for children to be recognized as full-fledged participants in the intellectual and artistic world of adults.
Elena and Alexander visited Pardubice for the first time in the autumn of 2024. The first part of their residency was primarily focused on getting to know the city and networking with local teachers. Out of this connection with the Srdcovka Elementary School, a workshop was created – tailored to the ideas and needs of the students – which took place on May 22, 2025, at the Automatic Mills (many thanks to GAMPA for their help and support!) as part of the collective’s second visit.
The OFFCITY AiR 2025 residency project is made possible thanks to the financial support of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the city of Pardubice. Thank you!
