AiR 2026 / Darina Molatová

The residency project by sculptor Darina Molatová explores spatial situations and the boundaries between private and public, negative and positive, loss and absence.

Darina Molatová is a sculptor and graduate of the Sculpture Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. During the first phase of her June residency, she focused on exploring the (interstitial) spaces of Pardubice. She was particularly interested in the boundaries between private and public, negative and positive, and loss and absence.

She was especially drawn to the atmosphere of the in-between spaces surrounding the new residential blocks on Na Spravedlnosti Street. Based on this initial research, our shared goal is to create a site-specific spatial installation. Such a project, however, requires careful development and time.

Darina will continue her work in 2027, which is why her residency has been divided into several phases. The interval between these phases also provides the necessary time for production, organizational work, and preparation for the installation's realization.
