AiR 2026 / Tereza Dvořáková (Vzbuďme Vary)
Curatorial residency (not only) supporting networking and mutual collaboration
22–31 July 2026
During her residency, Tereza Dvořáková visited, among other places, Fara Hoprich and focused on networking and discussing potential future collaborations, both with Offcity and with other local associations. She also explored the concept of in-between spaces as sites of continuous and dynamic transformation of our foundations and underlying structures. The artistic residency will be followed by a creative workshop devoted to collectively exploring in-between spaces in our relationships with the world and our role in co-creating it.
- “In-between spaces as a particular dimension preceding an idea, a state, or the next step that follows. Whose is the ‘no man’s land’ on the threshold of waiting? How do unconscious processes, contexts, and forgotten situations operate within it? What is needed so that, in the in-between space of crisis, we are not imposed an order that is not our own? Does the geological bedrock of the space in which we live over a long period of time influence our attitudes and behaviour?”
Tereza Dvořáková studied Cultural Studies at Charles University’s Faculty of Arts in Prague, where she completed her thesis on the socio-historical connections between attitudes towards the body and corporeality and ecological values. She has worked as a cultural manager for various institutions and projects. In 2015, she founded the Vzbuďme Vary initiative under the umbrella of Offcity, an initiative dedicated to revitalising cultural life in the Karlovy Vary region; in 2018, it became an independent association.
She also studies a range of psychosomatic approaches focused on process, mindfulness, the body, and imagination (including the Gestalt approach, processwork, biosynthesis, deep ecology, and others). In her curatorial practice, she explores the ways and techniques through which unconscious attitudes can be brought to awareness, enabling us to experience and shape our relationships with people, non-human beings, places, and the Earth in more fulfilling and liberated ways.
The OFFCITY AiR 2026 residency project is made possible with the generous financial support of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the Statutory Town of Pardubice.
